The HGL Logo

Our logo celebrates decades of success, growth, and change that made HGL the company that it is today.

The HGL logo is comprised of two carefully balanced parts:

The HGLement – This triangular icon pays homage to HGL’s origins. The three bands in HGL’s previous symbol are lifted into an arc that moves forward with an upward trajectory, taking HGL into the future. The HGLement could symbolize a shield of stewardship with the bands representing HGL’s values of care, integrity, and innovation... or the striations might imply land, sea and sky… or past, present and future… The HGLement invites creativity and diverse perspectives.

The HGL lettermark – The letters that form the H,G, and L are unique, custom-designed typography. The combination of curves and straight edges reflect the lines in the HGLement and demonstrate flexibility and strength. The italic slant leans into the future confidently.

LOGO & TAGLINE LOCKUP

Restoring the Environment.
Protecting Our Future.

HGL’s new tagline communicates its mission and vision in six straightforward, memorable words.

To reinforce the tagline’s association with the HGL brand, the tagline should always be used within the context of other HGL brand elements.

When using the tagline with the logo, always use one of the recommended logo and tagline “lock ups”. There are versions for light and dark backgrounds in stacked (vertical) and right side (horizontal) formats.

BEST PRACTICES FOR LOGO USE

HGL holds themselves and their employees to the highest standards — this includes implementing best practices to align with brand standards. Whether the HGL logo is being used on a business card, a billboard, or in a black & white conference booklet, correct use of the HGL logo demonstrates respect for the company and presents HGL in the best possible light.

CLEARANCE AREA

Providing clear space around the logo promotes optimal visibility and gives the logo an appropriate amount of prominence.

Use the width of the letter “L” from the logo itself to measure the correct minimum clearance area around all sides of the logo at any scale. The only element that may fall within the clearance area is the tagline artwork, as seen in the HGL logo with tagline examples below. When using the logo with the tagline, use the pre-made logo and tagline files to ensure the correct scale and placement of elements.

PAIRING THE HGL LOGO WITH PARTNER LOGOS

When the pairing the HGL logo with partner logos follow these three steps:

  1. Divide the logo with a fine rule in a neutral color like gray, black, or white. The height of the dividing line should be equal to the HGL logo’s vertical clearance space.

  2. Use the clearance area measured by the letter “L” (see details about the clearance space in the example above) to establish the distance between the logos and the dividing line.

  3. Balance the scale, weight, and alignment of the logos. Use the vertical scale of the HGL logo as a guide to scale and vertically align the partner logo. Partner logos come in a variety of shapes and sizes, therefore some logos may need more or less scale to achieve an optical balance.

Note: Do not use lock ups of logos that include tag lines when pairing multiple logos together.

When designing a JV logo where HGL is not the prime, reverse this template by placing HGL’s logo on the right and the prime company’s logo on the left.
